Years ago, on a hot afternoon, I was walking through the stalls of an outdoor market in Mexico. A man stepped out from behind a pile of woven blankets and held one out to me exclaiming, "Let me show you something you don't need!" It might've been a funny hook, but at that moment, drenched in sweat, I knew the last thing I needed was a blanket. I walked on.
Over the years, I've discovered many campaigns take the same approach. The wrong approach. Marketing is about engaging with your audience or customers, understanding their needs, crafting products that fill those needs and telling the market why you'll benefit them. It's really a simple propsition that often gets bogged down in overhyped style and grandiose promises.
I couple my storytelling and marketing experince to craft stories that excite and engage your market, in the style they want to see. I don't try to sell ice to eskimos or blankets on a hot afternoon.
